The report Bringing Embodied Carbon Upfront was launched in New York on Wednesday, during the World Green Building Week. The report calls for coordinated action in the building and construction industry in order to radically reduce embodied carbon.
The report includes a vision that by 2050, new buildings, infrastructure and renovations will have net zero embodied carbon.
Present at the US launch in the Empire State building were among others Finland’s Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Krista Mikkonen who delivered a keynote presentation.
There was also an engaged panel discussion where different parts of the industry presented their perspective on how to reach the goal of zero embodied carbon emissions by 2050.
